Stop allowing the bad news of the day to rob you of your joy and sense of purpose!
You belong on this planet, God put you here at this time in history for a purpose. You have a right to live your life, fulfill His plan and finish your course with joy. God has not changed, His Word has not changed, His will for you has not changed. You were born for this hour!
But it is time to live by faith.
If you’re waiting for the world to get back to normal so you can be happy again, wait no longer. It’s time to stop depending on the world for a sense of peace and assurance. As a Christian, you have another option—you can walk by faith. When you choose the faith option, you leave the realm of sight and sound, get off the emotional roller coaster, which is fueled by the news of the day, and leave fear and anger behind.
This does not mean you put your head in the sand and try to ignore what’s going on around you. You can still be informed, but you get your most important news from a different source.
“…while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” —2 Corinthians 4:18
Faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). Focus on the eternal things, the promises of God, and get your eyes off the temporal things.
The following are examples of what living by faith has done for those who have gone before us. It worked for them, and it will work for us:
“…who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. —Hebrews 11:33-35
The Apostle Paul faced relentless opposition, but faith in God was the key to victory through every challenge:
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” —2 Corinthians 4:7-9
There has never been a better time to walk by faith!
You can have joy unspeakable and full of glory and peace that passes all understanding in the midst of trouble, and you can have these things now, but they will only be yours by faith.
