He Said Yes!

There is no one like Jesus.

Every time I try to teach or talk about our Savior, I feel like I’m falling short. Words simply can’t capture the beauty, majesty, and splendor of Jesus Christ. Even if we spent days—or even years—trying to describe Him, He would still be infinitely greater than we could ever express or imagine. As the Apostle Paul said, we are trying “to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge…” (Ephesians 3:18-19).

And yet, we try. Because He’s worth it.

The Center of Creation

Let’s begin in Colossians 1:15-17:

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible… All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”

These words were written about Jesus. He is not only the center of our faith—He is the center of everything. Try reading it this way, with His name in place of the pronouns:

“All things were created through Jesus and for Jesus, and Jesus is before all things, and in Jesus all things consist.”

And John echoes the same truth:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)

We know this “Word” is Jesus because John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

From the very beginning, Jesus wasn’t a backup plan. He was central. He wasn’t added into the story when sin entered the world—He was the plan from before the foundation of the world.

The Dream of a Family

Imagine this: before the stars, before time, before anything existed, God had a dream—a family. A family made in His image. You and me.

But God knew something: if He made humans with a free will, they would one day choose sin. That wasn’t a surprise. He knew that sin would destroy creation and separate mankind from Him. And yet, He still wanted us. Still chose us.

Why?

Because love isn’t real without a choice. Robots can’t love. Worship that isn’t freely given isn’t true worship. And so, God gave us the ability to choose—knowing what it would cost.

The Eternal Decision

That’s when it happened.

Before the first sunrise, before Eden’s garden bloomed, before man ever sinned—Jesus said yes.

He stepped forward and said, “Father, make the world as You’ve dreamed it. Create man in Our image. Give them a choice. I will go. I will pay the price. I will take their place.”

And in that moment, the plan of salvation was born. The Lamb was “slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). Jesus wasn’t Plan B. He was always the answer.

There would be no Earth without Jesus. No trees, no oceans, no cities or nations. No future. No hope. Without Jesus, there would be no us.

I’m so glad He said yes.

The World Owes Its Existence to Jesus

Every sinner who curses His name… every person who ignores or mocks Him… they only exist because of Him. Every breath they take, every step they walk—Jesus made it possible. All things were created by Jesus and for Jesus.

And yet, He’s the most overlooked person in our world.

But don’t be fooled. Just because He’s ignored doesn’t mean He’s not still Lord. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

That was the plan before the beginning.

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…” (Philippians 2:9-11)

He Will Have the Last Word

The world may seem chaotic. Countries rise and fall. Voices shout loud with differing opinions and philosophies. But in the end, Jesus will have the final word.

Not North Korea. Not Russia. Not Washington, D.C.

Jesus.

He will declare, “It is finished,” and the Father will receive His family—just as He dreamed. Eternity will begin, and we will live in the fullness of that eternal relationship with our Savior.

We will be His sons and daughters, and He will be our Lord—forever.

Our Eternal Union with Jesus

Those of us who have received Him—who love Him, who call Him Lord—we will enjoy a relationship that never ends. Jesus will always be our Savior, our Redeemer, our Master, and our Friend. We will be joined with Him in a way that’s beyond comprehension, and yet gloriously real.

All because He said yes.
