Psalm 23 reminds us of one of God’s most comforting promises: “He restores my soul.”
Many believers understand that Jesus forgives their sins and saves their spirit. Others stand on God’s promises for healing in their physical bodies. But sometimes we overlook another important part of redemption—healing for the soul.
Our soul is made up of our mind, will, and emotions. It’s where memories live, where regrets linger, and where feelings of sadness or guilt can take root. Life experiences can leave deep marks on the soul, even when everything appears fine on the outside.
But Jesus came to restore the whole person—spirit, soul, and body.
Isaiah 53:5 reveals this beautiful truth:
- He was wounded for our transgressions (forgiveness for our spirit)
- The chastisement for our peace was upon Him (peace for our soul)
- By His stripes we are healed (healing for our body)
The peace Jesus paid for belongs to you. That means you don’t have to live under the weight of regret, shame, or sorrow.
The enemy often tries to rob believers of their peace by filling their minds with lies:
- Look what you’ve done.
- Look what you’ve been through.
- You’ll never recover.
But God’s Word teaches us to take every thought captive and refuse anything that contradicts His truth.
You may have experienced failure, loss, or heartbreak—but your past does not define your future.
Jesus said:
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you… Let not your heart be troubled.”
God’s peace isn’t dependent on circumstances. It’s a supernatural peace that guards your heart and mind.
When troubling thoughts arise, bring them to God in prayer. Speak His Word over your life and allow His peace to fill your soul.
No matter what damage life has done, the Good Shepherd is still able to restore your soul.

Who is Jesus Christ? In this mini book, Greg Fritz explores Jesus’ identity as the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament, the Son of God who came to save humanity from sin. That’s good stuff Greg!
Hey, it’s Theresa McNett from Fellowship Regional Church in Yates Center! Thanks for coming up the past 2 weekends. Gonna miss having you around the upcoming weekend! lol
I loved your word and am enjoying your new book. I have appreciated the focus verse, since we don’t regard Jesus in the flesh anymore, we shouldn’t see others and especially ourselves in regard to the flesh, but in spirit. Love that…and yet, I’m not being very successful there yet.
But I’m working on it!
That’s for bringing your inspiration word and I pray you and your wife have a great reconnecting vacation in the sunny South!
Take care…and we shall see you the next time!
Theresa McNett
Thanks a lot for this message. God sent it to me and i receive it in Jesus Name, Amen!
What an important beautiful message. It has touched my heart and speaks to me about those thoughts that are like chains around our ankles holding us back. I truly have struggled with those thoughts and emotions and I am thankful for the timing of this email. We are to guide and help each other in our Christian walk and you are such a wonderful teacher for that Greg. I am so grateful for the mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I as k for your prayers for me and my brothers Bob and Gary and my daughters and their families. I believe for the healing power of God to cover all generational traumas and lift the heaviness of what the enemy tries to place upon us. Thank you. God bless you and your family.
