In a world fueled by division, outrage, and endless noise, choosing peace can feel like a radical act. Yet, learning to control anger may be one of the most liberating decisions we ever make—not only for our emotional health but for our spiritual growth.
If we’re not careful, we could spend every day frustrated—angry at people, angry at problems, angry at life.
But much of what stirs our fury is often beyond our control. Some things won’t be made right until Jesus returns. And when we allow anger to rule, we end up draining time, energy, and emotion that could be better spent living, loving, and doing good.
The world is loud with bitterness. It’s easy to get swept up in the culture of offense. But Scripture calls us higher. Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled” (John 14:27). That means we don’t have to be angry, agitated, or perturbed. We can live above the fray. We can live free.
From the very beginning—when Cain killed Abel—Satan has used anger to divide humanity. He’s still at it, turning groups against one another: young versus old, rich versus poor, men versus women. But we don’t have to participate in the world’s cycle of hate. Instead, we can see people through God’s eyes—loved, valued, and equally worthy of grace.
In Christ, all earthly divisions fall away. Galatians 3:28 reminds us, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” The world talks about equality, but it’s the body of Christ where true equality thrives—where love knows no labels.
And how are we called to live?
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you… And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
—Ephesians 4:31–32
Kindness, forgiveness, and tenderheartedness may seem rare these days, but they are exactly what the world needs—and exactly what Jesus empowers us to give. As His representatives, we are called not just to preach peace but to live it.
Let this be a time where you choose love over offense, grace over rage, and forgiveness over resentment. Be a light. Be the difference. Be the calm in the storm.
Because when you let go of anger, you open the door to joy, healing, and the abundant life God has promised!
